Bring a lawn chair and enjoy! Denver Days - Annual event in September. Discovery Place - Discovery Place Charlotte Lazy 5 Ranch - Excellent little zoo. Odd collection of animals from deer to ostriches to zebras. Try the wagon ride when available. Lock Norman Highland Games - Annual Huntersville event in April Paramount's Carowinds Amusement Park - Amusement Park with roller coasters, water park, rides for most age groups. Family Fun +/- 2 hours Old Salem - A living-history restoration of the Moravian Church town of Salem founded in 1766 Riverbanks Zoo and Botanical Gardens - A sanctuary for more than 2000 animals. Woolly Worm Fest - Small town festival, but worth the trip. Kids love it!!!
